Good evening all!
Kambry had a great night last night and was a rockstar today! Last night they increased the pressure on her oscillator and this morning's X-Ray showed signifant growth of her right lung. They were able to turn down her oxygen because her lungs have started functioning some on their own. Another X-Ray was done at 4 today and her lung had shown even more growth! In this mornings rounds they even started surgery talks. They are still trying to determine whether to do the surgery while she is still on ECMO. I already mentioned the risks of that because the ECMO machine requires her to be on blood thinners. However the upside is they can manage her vitals with the machine and make sure she stays stable before, during, and after surgery. The goal then would be to remove her from ECMO within 24 hours after surgery. There's a small possibility surgery could be as soon as Friday. We pray that tomorrow and the days ahead she continues this progress.
Jill and Leisha joined us this weekend and Jill heads back home tomorrow. This evening they got to witness my first diaper change on Kambry. Which may or may not have looked like my first diaper change EVER. Heavy on the may. We also get to help with lotion and using a q-tip to rub my milk in her cheeks. They keep us as involved as we can be at this point which is great. She has been so alert these past couple days. After we do the milk swabs she sucks and smacks on her tube so hard the nurses can hear it in the hall. It sounds like she's blowing kisses. ❤️
Asher has been busy getting spoiled by my parents, Lon's mom, my godmother, and his aunts. Today Angie and Leisha took him to the zoo. Then Lon and I hung out with him this evening. I'd say he's getting so big but that's never the case with Asher. He's talking a lot more and busting some sweet dance moves lately. Clearly a trait he inherited from his mother.
Well we might try to make it an early night tonight. We are still staying at the hospital in their sleep rooms. Our plan is to move to the Ronald McDonald house once they have room. We toured it the other day and it's absolutely beautiful.
Thanks to all our prayer warriors! And for all the messages, cards, gifts, and support. Kambry is one loved little girl! And we feel so incredibly blessed to have all of you in our lives!!
