Hope you all had a great 4th! We took part in Lone Tree's community celebration which was a blast. Lon's cousin April and her family came with us so Asher had a friend to play with. Today we ran to the mall and wouldn't you know, we even found a Bison! Other than that we've just been enjoying the hot weather! Oh, and he and I took a quick trip to Tiny Town. He loved the train!
Asher and I have several countdowns going. And for anyone with kids, you know the scientific measurement for time is in 'sleeps'. Here's what we have going:
1 more sleep until my godmother returns to Colorado from visiting her mother in North Dakota. Thankfully, we've managed to keep her house in one piece. Knock on wood- Asher still has a couple hours in the morning to leave his mark. A HUGE shoutout to her for letting us stay here! We'll be back and forth between here and the NICU after the baby is born as well. We really love her huge backyard! Even her neighbors have been great. Offering prayers, checking on us, and dropping off candy.
3 more sleeps until my final NST. Kambry has been passing these tests with flying colors. Well, except for last Thursday when she moved SO much that they had trouble following her heartbeat. Clearly she's going to be a mover like her brother! Also this Thursday I will have my first steroid shot followed by another one Friday morning. These will help give her lungs one final push for development before delivery.
4 more sleeps until my parents arrive. They are making the entire drive on Friday and will be staying at my godmother's as well. They'll be helping Lon's mom and sister and whoever else care for Asher once Kambry is here. He'll be tossed around a little but eventually go back with my parents and stay with Lance and Jill until Lon is back.
5 more sleeps until DADDY arrives!!! Lon is flying in early Saturday morning with his mom. I've been teaching Asher all about planes and that his daddy is coming on one. We see 'daddy's truck' (UPS trucks) all over Denver. We've been facetiming Lon every day which has been awesome. But the last couple days Asher has awoken from his sleep screaming for daddy. He is definitely ready for the real thing! We are busy planning a day for the three of us on Saturday. I think we'll be heading to the aquarium as Asher is currently pretty obsessed with turtles. I'm just excited to have our 'team' back together again.
6 more sleeps until my sister in law Jill arrives. She has graciously agreed to be in the delivery room with us. Once the baby is born, Kambry will get a few lines put in right in the delivery room but will then immediately be taken away for more hookups etc.(pardon my non-medical terminology). Lon will go with baby and Jill will stay with me as I will without a doubt be freaking out. For anyone who hasn't met Jill, she is the most honest, calm, even-keeled person I know. Perfect for the position of keeping a hysterical person in check. It will probably be a couple hours before I am able to see Kambry. An eternity in new mother time.
Also in 6 sleeps (Sunday for those who can't follow), Lon and I will be checking into the hospital at 8 pm. I will be checked and the doctors will determine their course of action depending on how ready my body is for labor. The goal is to have a daytime delivery on Monday.
7 more sleeps until we welcome our precious baby Kambry. Wow - it's coming fast!!
I hope that gives everyone an idea of what our week looks like and a better picture of how delivery will be.
Thank you for your continued prayers and I ask that you pray for safe travels for everyone as they start to head this way. I also need to thank everyone who has helped take care of Asher while I ran to appts. We are so lucky to know as many people down here as we do. Another part of Gods plan.
I know several people have asked for our address down here. Until we are in the hospital, we are using:
830 Mercury Cir
Littleton, CO 80124
I will update everyone with our room number at Colorado Children's Hospital in Aurora once we have one.
I found this Bible verse yesterday and felt it was very fitting:
Mark 5:36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, "Don't be afraid; just believe." :)
Love to you all!
